4-H is an organization of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. We go to local 4-H member horse shows, have regular meetings, and plan horse focused events. A few of the purposes of this program are to encourage 4-H members:

1. To develop leadership abilities, build character, and assume citizenship responsibility.

2. To learn skill in horsemanship and to understand the care and training of horses

3. To increase knowledge of care and training of horses

4. To teach good sportsmanship in a friendly, competitive atmosphere.
